I'll really like as many who loves music and knows anything about church music to please join in the discusion of this topic here. I brought out this topic because i realize that apart from miracle performance, the one thing that flood members into any church, is music and when i say music, i mean goooood music.

As a matter of fact, i have seen and been to several churches where the Pastor either pay musicians to come and play for his church or if his church has very good singers and instrumentalists, he pays them weekly or monthly in other to retain them in his church.I have also seen where millions of naira is spent by churches just to get the church musicians quality instruments.

So lets talk.......................

Is music this powerful such that it leads to increase in members of a church if there is good music in that church or decrease in members if reverse is the case?

Of what use are these musical instruments to the church that millions of naira should be spent on?

Can't they just go to the market with a hundred thousand naira and be able to get enough quality instruments? (#100,000)

Of what importance are church musicians that they should be paid?

Why should a church singer or instrumentalist be paid for doing the work of God?

Is it because the church musicians are paid most time that they do all they can to improve on their musical knowledge?

Please feel free to talk on any of all i just laid down or what ever opinion you have.

Music is very intresting. It has a way o f influencing our lives and it's a pity that many Christians have been carried away by the dash of the wind in the music world.
Fine, there is no crime to be paid for what you k now how to do, but when you are doing God's work, like ministering in church, all because of the money you will generate from it, then that is not a ministry.
Being a music minister or chorister is a ministry and we all, especially those that are into gospel music should know this. It is not until you carry titles that you can be called a minister.
David said,'I will not give God what will not cost me something'
Whatever God might have deposited in us, we are to lay it down on His altar and only for His glory, not because of what you will get from it.
Because many musicians  and instrumentalist are now being paid, that is why we have arrear boys and girls that have taken over the gospel music and the church at  large.
This is not how it was done in the past. Let the Church go back to her source and learn from the heroes of faith, and stand for honour and dignity and the truth.
Music moves many to some churches, but are they being moved to God?
Gospel music is meant to edify but in this generation many of the so called gospel music are noxious.
