Nigeria Needs Your Influence!

WWW
« on: January 25, 2008, 12:12:53 AM »

Girls who have not lost virginity are to be given scholarships up to university level. It has become extremely difficult to find young women and girls who are virgins in a society with poor moral values and unbridled promiscuity.
Seeking to find some kind of solution to what has been termed “a moral question,” Madam Adunni Adediran, CEO/Editor-in-Chief, Fragile Feet Magazine, said that the good, sound moral values appeared to be dying, if not dead.

“But alas, it is time we rekindle and rediscover the old spiritual injunction, African culture and values where young and old spinsters are expected to keep their bodies sacrosanct for their would-be spouses.

A culture where virginity is seen as a pride and celebrated with funfare on the eve of wedding.”
She decried the poor moral state of our young girls as many people believed that we can hardly find any Nigerian girl who has not lost her virginity at sixteen years of age.

“To some people, you can never find any.

This is a moral question which erodes our cultural belief and practice. Yesteryears, it was a thing of pride to our parents when it was discovered that their young daughters were deflowered on the night of their wedding. It was indeed a mark of honour and testimony, that parents gave their daughters qualitative and moral training,”

Adediran said at a press briefing to announce the “Nigerian Virgin Girls” celebration for the first time in the country.

According to her, it is the contrary, as shame and reproach were the lot of both the lady and her parents, if it were discovered that she had been deflowered before the wedding night. All virgin girls are expected at the celebration in Ekemode Memorial Hospital and Women’s Infirmary, 3B, Bode Thomas Road, Surulere, Lagos, on 24th January, 2008 at 10 a.m.

Rewards include scholarships for deserving virgin girls, certificates of virtue, and other gifts including gold jewelries, visit to interesting places.

Other benefits are availability of young bachelors who would desire them because of the purity, and to stop vices such as sex before marriage, nymphomania, promiscuity, fornication, lesbianism, sodomy, orgy, infidelity and so on.

“If we can maintain this concept, abstaining from pre-marital sex will keep our daughters safe from sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. Statistics show that majority of HIV/AIDS victims contact it through sex and youths are more susceptible to contacting it.”

To be eligible to participate, females between the ages of 15 to 30 years or over and are still pure without a canal knowledge of any man are to pay a token fee of N2,000 at any Oceanic Bank.

Potential participants should keep the proof of payment to be brought along on the 24th January, 2008 to the venue of the celebration. It is going to be an annual event.

She explained that the event is a programme also aimed at stopping abortion, because a girl can commit so many abortions which can prevent her from having children and terminating her educational career.

“Last year October was when I got the initiative. I found out that men use the blood, pure blood from virgins for money rituals But if a girl is being disvirgined by her husband, it’s a pride for the family, and respect for the family members.”

Adediran disclosed the name of the NGO promoting this project as “Just For You Media,” and that certificate of virtue will be issued for successful participants.

I love this concept. But what about virgin men? Coz lots of time, people think that the females alone are meant to keep their virginity and be pure and holy until marriage. Men also need to keep themselves pure!A new wine should be pored into a new wineskin and at least, the old wine into a old wineskin so that the equation will be balanced.  Cool
